The April Square

I went to Amsterdam last month, and you will have seen a few impressions from the city in my blog from there.

During that trip I especially focused on the symmetry of the windows in all the buildings, so I decided to knit a square representing the Amsterdam buildings. Not as easy as said.

Above, you see the building and my first paper design from that photo, which meant working with lots of colours and lots of yarn ends! Have a closer look at the actual windows. I did not like the up-side-down cross, so I did a second trial, which turned out better.

I have used most reds in this square and the previous ones, so I think that the next one has to be green - let's see!
